for India.
The 2007 World Cup winner believes both Pandya and Dube will get a chance to showcase their finishing skills, with Pandya being the first-choice and Dube coming in the knockout stages of the tournament.

This is when discussions are going on as to which players should be included in India’s final XI.
Pandya led mumbai indians Been through a tough season but that was a miserable one IPL He scored just 216 runs in the campaign. In contrast, Dubey scored 396 runs at a strike rate of 162.29. Chennai Super KingsWhich includes three half-centuries.
“The good thing for the Indian team is that they will now get a chance to get into form before the Super 8s because we will be playing teams that are not at the top level apart from Pakistan. This will give us a chance to perform well and feel good. Once on the big stage, if you start feeling good, it is a completely different game. I hope that happens,” Pathan said in the Star Sports press room.

He said, “Talking about the best finishing options for the Indian team, I think Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube will play different roles. Hardik will have a set role to finish the game, and Shivam Dube will play as a floater, at least in the playoffs, acting as an enforcer against the spinners. He will play that kind of role.”
In response to Pandya’s decline in batting performance, the former cricketer suggested that he start using a wider batting stance.

Pathan said, “We all know that Hardik’s batting ability has reduced and this has happened because he probably wants to bat in the upper order. His batting stance used to be big and wide, which used to give you a good base. But in the last 1.5 years, his stance has come down a bit. When your stance is like this, you have a lot of free movement, which is what you need when the ball is doing something. So, I really think that if he wants to play that kind of role, he needs to go back to his original stance, with a wide stance, which will give him a great base for hitting.”
Pandya took 11 wickets in the last phase of the IPL and will try to continue his bowling form at the top level of T20. The 39-year-old Pandya said that his bowling form in the last phase of the IPL will boost his confidence in batting.
“Secondly, if he is bowling, he should carry on the same way as he did in the last phase of the IPL. This will also help his batting as he plays primarily as a batting all-rounder rather than a bowling all-rounder in the Indian team. However, it works both ways; if you do well in one area, it boosts your confidence in the other. I have experienced this as an all-rounder. So, I am confident that by the time the World Cup comes he will sort out all the problems related to his batting ability and play a major role in the tournament,” the former all-rounder added.
