The Indian cricket team are wearing black armbands in the 2024 T20 World Cup clash against Afghanistan at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Thursday (June 20) in what is their first game in the Super 8 stage of the competition.
All 15 players as well as the support staff of the national team were spotted wearing black armbands as the team assembled for the national anthem ahead of the start of the match after Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are wearing black armbands in the memory of former India pacer David Johnson, who passed away earlier in the day.
