Radhikka Madan had a 27-year age gap with her Sarfira co-star Akshay Kumar. However, that didn’t bother her at all. In fact, during a chat with Zoom, the B-town diva revealed why the age gap was important in the film.

During a conversation with Rudrani Chattoraj, Radhikka Madan shared her thoughts on the online discourse regarding the 27-year age gap she had with her Sarfira co-star Akshay Kumar. Sharing that the reason for the huge age gap in explained in the film, the actress said, “It’s really weird because when it was announced, and the trailer came we did receive a lot of comments on the age gap, but after the film got released people were like ‘It didn’t bother us.’ It’s because they understood the story behind it. From the word go, it was addressed in the film. My opening scene addressed this thing.”
The B-town diva further added that the age gap was integral to the film’s plot, saying “It was very important because they were not in love with how they looked. Rani and Veer both were rebels, they were dreamers and they were let down by society. Nobody could understand them and then they found a person who they could see themselves in. That is the reason of feeling attracted. It wasn’t just she’s young and beautiful.”
Radhikka also brought up the fact that her character only tied the knot with Veer after she learnt to respect herself and him as she knew people would perceive their marriage in the wrong manner. “That’s why I say yes (to the film). Why not? It doesn’t bother me,” the actress said.
