Donald Trump and Robert F Kennedy Jr have been vocal about their pro-crypto stance. The latter, an independent presidential candidate, on Friday spoke at the Bitcoin 2024 conference declaring that he holds most of his wealth in the decentralized currency. The Republican nominee addressed the conference on Saturday afternoon.

Trump is also hosting a fundraiser in Nashville, with tickets topping out at $844,600. Earlier this year, BTC Inc. CEO David Bailey, who organized the conference, said he will raise $100 million and get more than 5,000,000 voters to get the former president back into power.

Donald Trump has been open about his support for cryptocurrency. His campaign has been accepting donations in virtual tokens, pledging to end President Joe Biden’s ‘war on crypto’. The Republican also advocates that all future bitcon be made in the US.

While Trump and RFK Jr are clearly pro-crypto, Kamala Harris is not sure. The VP, who is the front-runner to win the Democratic nomination, has not taken a definitive public stance on cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, or NFTs.

Her financial disclosures reveal no ownership of digital assets by either herself or her husband, which suggests a cautious approach or a lack of personal interest in the sector. This neutrality has persisted despite her ties to tech-centric California and Silicon Valley, areas known for their strong interest in digital innovation.

Recent surveys indicate that a significant portion of American voters consider Bitcoin and cryptocurrency to be important issues. According to a March 2024 public opinion poll by Paradigm, 19% of American registered voters have bought cryptocurrency, including 24% of self-identified independent voters. This ownership is even higher among younger voters and communities of color, with 40% of men aged 18-54, 33% of African Americans, and 32% of Hispanics owning or using cryptocurrency in 2024.

Additionally, a Harris Poll found that 26% of voters view cryptocurrency as a “major issue” in the 2024 elections, with 77% of likely American voters believing that presidential candidates should have an informed perspective on cryptocurrency.
