JD Vance, who is Donald Trump’s running mate, asked his seven-year-old son to ‘shut the hell up about Pikachu’ during his call with the former president, the Ohio Senator said during an appearance on the Full Send Podcast, which released Friday. The Republican’s son is a big Pokeman fan and is collecting trading cards. He was talking about his cards when Vance was on call with Trump.
Talking about the incident on the Full Send Podcast, Vance said: “My son, who is seven, is in the hotel room with me. And he is really into Pokemon cards right now, he’s going through a Pokemon phase… I mean he’s really into it, so he is trying to talk to me about Pikachu and I am on the phone with Donald Trump, I’m like ‘son, shut the hell up for 30 seconds about Pikachu.’”

Vance was on call with Donald Trump on the first night of the Republican National Conference (RNC) when the former president announced the Ohio Sen as his running mate for the 2024 race.
“This is the most important phone call of my life, please just let me take this phone call,” Vance further added.
He recounted being asked if he had any ‘secret family’ in Alaska in an interview that took place with his wife Usha.

“At one point, the lawyer said, ‘Well, I’m going to ask some uncomfortable questions, ‘” Vance recounted. “I was like, ‘OK, have at it.'”
Vance said that the lawyer then asked, “Do you have any secret family?”
The Ohio Sen responded: “I’m like, ‘Are you serious? Do I have any secret family? Like, what do you mean?'”
