Kamala Harris’ running mate Tim Walz reportedly hosted a Muslim leader who did not condemn the October 7 attack on Israel and praised a film that glorifies Hitler. The cleric, identified as Imam Asad Zaman, also received donations worth over $100,000 from the Minnesota Governor’s office, the Washington Examiner revealed Friday.
Neither Walz nor Kamala Harris’ campaign have reacted to the report yet. The Washington Examiner further noted that Walz’s office gave cash to the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, a group helmed by the Asad Zaman.

Zaman, according to the report, shared official Hamas press releases, blog posts a link to a pro-Hitler film ‘The Greatest Story Never Told’ on his Facebook page. His group has been described as ‘founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the US’ by federal prosecutors. It was designated a terrorist group by the United Arab Emirates in 2014.
Muslim American Society also faced criticism in 2019 when a video surfaced of children at a Philadelphia chapter event calling for Jews to be killed.

A day after the October 7 attack, Zaman asked a Congresswoman if she would “reaffirm the right of Palestinians to defend themselves.” His group declared it “reaffirms its unwavering support for the Palestinian people in their struggle against the Israeli occupation.”
In May 2023, Zaman was seen attending a mosque security meeting with Walz’s gubernatorial office, according to the Washington Examiner report.
