The Democratic National Convention (DNC) kicks off on Monday, featuring a pretty impressive lineup of political figures set to take the stage over four days.

Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz are already on the Democratic ticket, having secured their spots after an online vote by delegates on August 5. Harris made history as the first Black and Asian-American to become a presidential nominee for a very major political party, with more than 4,500 delegates giving her 99% support.

The official vote for Harris will be cast at Chicago’s United Center, where she will also confirm her selection of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her vice-presidential pick.

This year’s DNC, coordinated by Steven Spielberg, will see Democratic delegates from all 50 states and U.S. territories gather in Chicago.

While the formal speaking schedule has not been released, key speakers and their anticipated times are already drawing attention.

Joe Biden to Address Unity at DNC

Though he has stepped down from his re-election bid, President Joe Biden is set to speak at the DNC. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized Biden’s commitment to unity in his upcoming address, scheduled for August 19.

The Clintons to Show Support for Harris

Hillary Clinton is set to speak on Monday, followed by former President Bill Clinton on Thursday. The Clintons endorsed Harris after Biden’s withdrawal, with Hillary repping and highlighting Harris’s potential to break the glass ceiling she couldn’t in 2016.

Obama to Take the Stage

Former President Barack Obama will be delivering his speech will deliver his speech on August 22. Michelle Obama and Barack have endorsed Harris soon after Biden’s exit, praising her strength and leadership.

Tim Walz to Speak on Day Three

Harris’s running mate, Tim Walz, is scheduled to speak on August 21, as is tradition for the vice-presidential pick.

Harris will wrap up the DNC on August 22, formally accepting her nomination as the Democratic presidential candidate, four years after becoming the vice president.
