President Joe Biden on Friday hopped on the viral ‘Very Demure, Very Mindful‘ TikTok trend as the White House posted about cancelling student debt of nearly five million Americans. The trend, which originates from influencer Jools Lebron’s video, has social media users pretending to be super calm and polite as they take on daily tasks.They do this to show how you can be nice and careful without doing too much.
On Friday, the White House posted about Biden ‘cancelling the student debt of nearly 5 million Americans through various actions’ along with a smiling picture of the president.
“Very mindful. Very demure,” the tweet further read. This comes after the Biden administration asked the Supreme Court to lift a block on the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) plan, which is designed to ease the burden of student loan debt for millions of borrowers.
Earlier in the day, Biden stumbled over his script as he said at a civil rights event in the Oval Office that he served as vice president for 12 years. The 81-year-old corrected himself, further adding that deadly race riots ‘could happen again’ in America.
“I never thought that, having been in the Senate for so many years as well as vice president for 12 years — for 8 years and president for 4 years that I’d see, that I’d have to worry about people wanting to erase history,” Biden said. “It’s important, important, important that anybody that walks by this area knows what happened here because it could happen again if we don’t take care of ourselves and fight for this democracy.”
