A new scam has surfaced asking people to donate for a missing man who has been dead for four months. Many social media posts are claiming that Brian Posch, a 36-year-old man, is missing from Limerick. But there is confirmation from multiple sources now that Posch was found dead inside his submerged truck four months ago.
According to a report by CBS News Pittsburg cited by People, Posch was found dead on April 9 in the Monongahela River days after he went missing from Brighton Township Police Department. Posch was reported missing after he failed to show up to work. The police were led to the truck via location data from Posch’s cellphone. However, it remains unclear how Posch’s body ended up in the river.
Scams like this have become common in the United States. Recently photo of a young girl named Gracie Mae Thompson was being circulated on social media saying that she was missing. However, as many have confirmed, the photo and the link about the girl are fake.

Similar social media posts claiming that Posch has been missing have popped up. Some claim that he went missing from Limerick, others say that it was from Danielson. Other details, such as there was a baby inside his truck and a silver alert had been issued for the baby named Keith, who is considered in danger.
Brian Posch’s obituary was put up on the website of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania-based John F. Slater Funeral Home. According to the obituary, Posh was born on February 3, 1988.
The obituary read: “Brian had a strong passion for the outdoors. He spent his lifetime duck hunting, boating and dirtbike riding. Brian is a well-respected foreman for Steamfitters Local 449. He was unquestionably happiest being with his wife Alanna and daughter Mila.”
