Jeremy Allen White Triumphs Again At Emmys 2024: My Heart Is Just Beating Outside Of Its Chest (AP)
Emmy Awards 2024 Best Actor: Jeremy Allen White has claimed victory once more! At the 2024 Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 15, the star of The Bear was honoured as Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series for the second consecutive year.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you, so much,” White, who portrays Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto in the hit Hulu series, said upon receiving his award. “My heart is just beating outside of its chest.”
In his emotional acceptance speech, White expressed deep gratitude to his The Bear costars, stating, “I want us to be in each other’s lives forever.” He continued to reflect on the profound impact of the show, noting, “This show has changed my life. It has installed a faith that change is possible, that change is possible if you’re able to reach out, you’re really truly never alone. I thank this show.”
The success of The Bear is often attributed to the remarkable chemistry among its cast. In a June 2024 interview with Vanity Fair, White discussed his strong bond with co-star Ayo Edebiri. “We really enjoy each other in life, on camera and off camera,” White shared. “I hope that sort of that kind of thing shines through on camera between Carm and Syd.” He added, “Syd is always able to…I don’t know, to deliver something different to Carmy, and she’s usually right. And I guess I think Ayo is also usually right.”
During his speech, White also extended his thanks to fellow nominees, including Martin Short and Steve Martin from Only Murders in the Building, D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai from Reservation Dogs, Larry David from Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Matt Berry from What We Do in the Shadows. “I’m so honored to be in your company,” he said.
