New Delhi: A Delhi Police constable was crushed to death allegedly after a car hit him from behind, dragging him for 10 meters and leaving him severely injured in Nangaloi last night. The incident took place when constable Sandeep was going towards Railways Road, and observed a WagonR car being driven recklessly. When he confronted the driver, the accused got furious and rammed his car over the constable. The Delhi Police official was on a bike when the car came running towards him. The constable later succumbed to the head injuries that received during the road rage. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said the national capital has become lawless after he noticed that the Delhi has reported three firing incidents in 24 hours.

Sandeep was on duty at the time of the incident. He had just left the Nangaloi Police Station, and was dressed in civilians clothes in view of increased burglary in the area. As per CCTV footage, CT Sandeep took a left turn in a gali and indicated the Wagon R to slow down. On this the wagon R suddenly accelerated and hit the Bike and dragged the deceased with bike for about 10 meters and hit another parked car. CT Sandeep got head injuries leading to death.

A case under 103 BNS is registered and investigation taken up. Two persons who are absconding from vehicle are being searched, the Delhi Police said. Sandeep, 2018 batch CT, was 30 years old and is survived by mother, wife and 5 year old son. Delhi Police is saddened by departure of a family member in such tragic circumstance.

The police have seized the vehicle involved in the road rage, and launched a manhunt operation to nab the culprit. More details are awaited in the case. According to the police, a bootlegger Jangla could be behind the incident.

Nangaloi Sweets Shop Firing

The incident occurred the same day of the Nangaloi firing incident outside a sweets shop. Besides that, there was another shooting incdent in Mahipalpur at a hotel. The police investigation had revealed that the hotel owner had been receiving extortion calls for ransom. A day prior to that, the first of the series of shootout was reported from Naraina in a car showroom. The shootouts have left the residents in fear in the capital.

After the three back-to-back extortion and shootouts incidents by gangsters in Delhi, the Commissioner of Police (CP) held a high-level meeting to take strict actions against the lawlessness in Delhi.

Law and Order Collpased

Responding to the news of the shootouts in Delhi, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, who have recently resigned from the post of Delhi Chief Minister, said Law and order has collapsed in Delhi.”

In a post on social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), Kejriwal wrote, ” There is complete jungle raj. People are feeling unsafe in the country’s capital. Delhi’s law and order comes under Amit Shah ji. He will have to take effective steps immediately.”
