Samsung is gearing up to unveil its Galaxy S25 series flagship smartphones in early 2025. Although the official launch is several months away, leaks and certifications have already revealed intriguing details about the upcoming devices. Here’s a comprehensive roundup of what we know so far about the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra Design
The design of the Galaxy S25 and S25+ is expected to maintain a rounded aesthetic, similar to their predecessors, while the Ultra variant will feature a more rounded design than the boxy shape of the S24 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra Display
The Galaxy S25 and S25+ may see a slight increase in display size, thanks to slimmer bezels. Current models have displays of 6.2 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, however, could bump up the display size to 6.9-inch from Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 6.8-inch screen. All variants will feature LTPO Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels, with only the S25+ and Ultra models expected to offer a QHD+ resolution, while the base model will retain a 1080p display.
Samsung’s 2,600 nits peak brightness is expected to be enhanced in the upcoming lineup. However, S Pen support will likely remain exclusive to the Ultra model.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Camera Upgrades
Initial rumours indicate that both the Galaxy S25 and S25+ will feature a 50MP primary rear camera. The 12MP selfie camera is expected to remain unchanged, while there may be upgrades to the ultrawide and telephoto lenses. Historically, the base and Plus models share camera features with the Ultra, suggesting a possible adoption of the new 50MP ultrawide lens.
Despite hopes for an upgrade, the 3x zoom camera may continue in all models, including the Ultra, which might retain its 10MP lens.
The Ultra model is expected to sport a 200MP main sensor, along with upgrades to its ultrawide and telephoto lenses. The ultrawide lens may increase to 50MP, and the telephoto lens may feature variable zoom capabilities for smoother video transitions.
Galaxy S25, S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra Specs
Samsung has confirmed the upcoming Exynos 2500 processor, although the Galaxy S25 series is rumoured to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 globally.
There are also indications that the new models could upgrade from LPDDR5X to LPDDR6 RAM, improving performance, along with a possible transition to UFS 4.1 storage for enhanced speed.
The Galaxy S25, S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra are likely to maintain their predecessors’ battery capacities of 4,000mAh, 4,900mAh, and 5,000mAh, respectively. The charging speeds may also stay the same at 25W and 45W.
Samsung is expected to improve battery life through the efficiency of 3nm chips and AI-powered power management.
Galaxy S25, S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra Features
The Galaxy S25 series is expected to launch with Android 15-based One UI 7.1, following significant updates in One UI 7.0.
Galaxy S25 and S25+ Price in India and Release Date
While Samsung raised prices for the Galaxy S24 series, expectations are that the Galaxy S25 series will maintain similar pricing. The base variant of the Galaxy S24 starts at Rs 79,999 in India, with the S24+ at Rs 99,999.
Typically, pre-orders commence immediately after the launch event, which we anticipate to occur in January 2025, following Samsung’s trend of early-year releases.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Price in India, Release Date
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to follow the trend of earlier releases, potentially unveiling in mid-January. Recent pricing trends suggest it may remain close to the current S24 Ultra’s price of Rs 1,34,999, but increased component costs could impact final pricing.
