New Delhi: The forever clash between the Delhi government and the LG has now received fresh arsenal as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has made shocking allegations against Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. In a press briefing on Saturday, AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh accused the LG of protecting a doctor who allegedly sexually exploited multiple women doctors in a Delhi government hospital.
Singh said the man had been sexually exploiting a lady doctor for over one year and she filed multiple complaints and presented her case before an internal complaints committee but the LG ‘continued to protect’ the MS (Medical Superintendent) of the hospital.
AAP said that there are multiple such complaints against the doctor and yet no action has been taken against him.
What Is AAP Alleging?
According to Sanjay Singh, a lady doctor was subjected to sexual exploitation by a colleague (Medical Superintendent of the hospital) for over 1.5 years now. She filed a complaint against the accused in October 2023 and after a delay of four months, an internal complaints committee was tasked to probe the case.
“Today, I am here to expose a very serious matter. You all will be shocked to know how a woman doctor is being exploited for the last 1-1.5 years under the protection of Delhi L-G. Despite her complaining about it several times, L-G is protecting MS, who is exploiting her, and conducting an investigation against the woman. This is shocking,” the AAP MP said.
The probe began only in March 2024 and in May, AAP alleged, the accusations were found to be true but no action was taken against the accused doctor. “The internal committee in its probe found that the woman doctor’s allegations against the officer were correct, yet no action was taken against him,” Singh claimed further.
He said the LG, ‘backed by BJP’, protected the accused doctor and the complainant doctor was transferred from the hospital. He asked why the LG was protecting the doctor in question and why the accused was not arrested yet.
