Sarai Rohilla: Four people, including a juvenile, were arrested for robbing a man and holding him and his domestic help at knifepoint in his home. The accused, identified as Jaskirat (25 years), Mukul (22 years), Arjun (22 years), and a 17-year-old boy, were all residents of the same locality. The crime took place on October 8 and was reported to the police through a PCR call.
The robbery unfolded when two of the culprits forced their way into the victim’s house at around 1:20 pm. They tied up the man and his maid before looting ₹12 lakh worth of cash and jewelry.
CCTV footage played a crucial role in identifying two of the accused, Mukul and the juvenile. Mukul was arrested on October 10, and his interrogation led to the capture of Jaskirat, the main conspirator, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Raja Banthia.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Jaskirat used to regularly visit the victim’s home, being familiar with their routine and the cash kept inside.
The stolen loot was divided among the gang members, out of which some portion was recovered by the police, with ₹3 lakh found on Jaskirat and an additional ₹2.79 lakh seized from the others.
All four have been charged, and the police continue their investigation into the matter.
