New Delhi: Wipro shares surged by over 5 per cent in early trade today after the IT giant reported solid earnings for the second quarter of FY25 and announced a bonus share issue. The stock climbed as much as 5.34 per cent to Rs 557.05 per share on the BSE.

The Wipro share open at Rs 532 and touched a high of Rs 558.4. The previous closing of the share is Rs 528.75 and it touch a day low of Rs 524.8. The average traded price is Rs 548.52 and the volume is 29965112. Out of the total volume, the total buy quantity is 1142712 and the total sell quantity is 1527894.
While announcing the Board Meeting yesterday, the company said in an exchange filing, “”Recommended to the shareholders for their approval, through postal ballot, issue of bonus equity shares in the proportion of 1 :1 , i.e., 1 (One) bonus equity share of~ 2/- each for every 1 (One) fully paid-up equity share held and a bonus issue [stock dividend on American Depositary Share (ADS)] of 1 (One) ADS for every 1 (One) ADS held, as on the record date, subject to approval of the Members of the Company.”
Wipro Q2 Results: Revenue
Wipro, India’s fourth-largest software services exporter, reported a revenue of Rs 22,196 crore, which is a 1.4 per cent increase from the previous quarter’s Rs 21,896.3 crore. The USD revenue rose 1.3 per cent sequentially to $2,660 million.
Wipro Q2 Earnings: Large Deal Bookings And EBITDA
The large deal bookings increased 28.8 per cent QoQ to $1.5 billion in the second quarter. EBIT (earnings before interest and tax) for IT services grew 3.5 per cent to Rs 3,732 crore, with the EBIT margin improving by 30 bps to 16.8 per cent.
Wipro Dividend: Record Date
The record date for identifying eligible shareholders, including ADS holders entitled to bonus shares, will be notified subsequently. The decision was made during a Board Meeting.
