Sri Lanka vs West Indies 2nd ODI: Sri Lanka are all set to take on West Indies in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Pallekele International Stadium. The home side came into the series in some great form with a 2-1 win in the T20I series against the men from the island nation. They continued their momentum as they won the first match of the ODI series as well.
In the first innings of the first match, West Indies put on a score of 185/4 in 38.3 overs before rain came into play. Sherfane Rutherformd was batting brilliantly on 74 and looked set to score a ton. However, the incessant rain meant that the vistors could not bat any futher, and the second innings where Sri Lanka came out to bat was reduced to 37 overs. They were given a target of 232 according to the Duckworth-Lewis method.
Sri Lanka chased the target down with a dominant batting performance in 31.5 overs. Nishan Madhushka scored 69 runs from 54 balls, while captain Charith Asalanka top scoring with 77 runs from 71 balls.
The second match has once again been affected by rain, with the match tarting 2 hours past the scheduled time. Sri Lanka would hope to win the game and seal the series with a match in hand.
