In Shillong Teer, the result is decided by two rounds of archery, in each of which a specific number of arrows is shot by archers representing clubs under the Khasi Hills Archery Sports Institute.
The winning number of a round is determined by the tally of target hits. The last two digits are taken as the lucky number, which players of the lottery have to try and match peremptorily.
