Ace Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is currently shooting for a film in Lucknow about which not much details have been revealed to the media or the public. Meanwhile, the director himself has confirmed that production on his next is currently underway at the location, while also sharing an excited post on having Malayalam filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery dropping in to pay him a visit on location.
On October 29, Tuesday, Anurag Kashyap took to his social media to share an excited post where he shared pictures of himself with Lijo as he wrote, “We had a very special person dropping in on our set”.
Anurag Kashyap’s Love For Malayalam Cinema
Anurag Kashyap had been, of late, been quite vociferous in his support for the content that had been coming out from the Malayalam film industry, going so far as to present the recently-released Manju Warrier film Footage, while also gearing up to make his debut in Malayalam with director Aashiq Abu’s action thriller Rifle Club. Interestingly, popular rapper Hanumankind of Big Dawgs fame would be playing the son of his character in the film. He had also recently taken to his social media to voice his appreciation for actor Joju George’s directorial debut film Pani. Also, earlier this year, the Bollywood director had been a loud supporter of Pellissery’s film Malaikottai Vaaliban, starring Mohanlal. Responding to some of the negative reviews for the 2024 film, Kashyap said that such criticism could not reduce its quality. Kashyap called it a “great film” with an innovative and refreshing filmmaking approach from Pellissery.
Anurag Kashyap’s Upcoming Project
Kashyap’s upcoming projects include a film that has been announced with Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra, Joju George and Saba Azad, in the lead. It is unknown whether the film that he is shooting for currently in Lucknow is the same one, or a different project.
