Shah Rukh Khan Did THIS After Ameesha Patel ‘Declined’ Chalte Chalte
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan‘s 2003 romantic drama Chalte Chalte, which starred Rani Mukerji as the female lead, was initially supposed to feature Aishwarya Rai. However, she was unexpectedly replaced by Rani, allegedly due to her feud with ex-boyfriend Salman Khan. But did you know? Ameesha Patel was also offered the film. In fact, SRK was quite displeased when she “declined” the project.
Did Ameesha decline Chalte Chalte?
The Gadar actress recently revealed that Shah Rukh had even shown her the final edits to give her a glimpse of what she missed out on. However, Ameesha was unaware of the offer, as her secretary had not informed her that she was being considered for the role.
In an interview with BeautybyBiE, Ameesha spoke about the projects she rejected. She revealed, “In my profession, I missed out on some films. Some became colossal successes, and some failed. I didn’t do Shah Rukh Khan’s Chalte Chalte because I wasn’t aware it was offered to me. My secretary didn’t inform me that this film was in the offering.”
What SRK Did
She continued, “When the film was about to release and Shah Rukh was dubbing for it, he took me into the dubbing studio and showed me a few edits. He said, ‘Come, Let me show you a few edits of some footage of a film that you declined.’ I replied, ‘Shah Rukh, what have I declined?’ and he said, ‘This.’”
The duo didn’t collaborate on any projects after this. However, the actress did have a cameo in SRK’s Om Shanti Om.
Last year, Ameesha made a grand comeback with Gadar 2, a sequel to her and Sunny Deol’s iconic film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.
