New Delhi: A teen girl and her 22-year-old aunt were allegedly gang raped by five men in southeast Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar on Sunday night. Police said the incident occurred when the survivors were trying to get entry in a club in Lajpat Nagar and were not allowed. The accused arrived in a car and asked the two to join them saying that they would help the survivors get entry into another club in Malviya Nagar or Gurugram.
The 17-year-old girl and her aunt said in their complaint that the men took them to a nearby residence where they were allegedly raped, reported Times of India.
Taken For a Ride, Then Given ‘Sedatives’
According to the complaint, the two said the men first approached them offering access to a club. As per TOI, The accused then started talking to them and exchanged their phone numbers. The women were then offered cold drinks that were spiked, they alleged.
The girl and her aunt were taken to various locations, including Gurgaon, before the men took then to the house of one of the accused in Kasturba Niketan. The report stated that it was here that the five accused allegedly raped the teenager and her aunt.
Later, one of them, named Shubham, dropped the survivors near their home in Ashram.
Survivors’ Shocking Confrontation With Truth
The next day, the two felt pain in their abdomen and went to a government hospital for check-up, only to find that they were raped. The minor was admitted and the hospital informed the cops. A case under the POCSO Act and other relevant sections has been registered, the report added.
Police finally managed to arrest all the five accused, aged between 22 and 26 years. They were identified as Shivam Parchha, Aman Pal, Ashish, Amar Mehra and Abhishek. They all worked as helpers, guards and car drivers and the cops have recovered the car as well.
