Ben Stokes‘ hilarious reaction upon spotting his look-alike on Day 4 of the second Test at Trent Bridge on Sunday, Nottingham, left us laughing. The incident occurred during the second session of the day as England extended their lead past 380. While the English tailenders contributed important runs, the camera operator found a fan in the crowd who resembled Stokes.

Upon noticing the look-alike on the big screen, both Paul Collingwood and Ben Stokes burst into laughter. The England captain initially smiled and then made a funny face with his hands. The crowd and commentators enjoyed the moment, with the latter seen laughing in the commentary box.

Speaking of the action on Day 4, England resumed their innings at the overnight score of 248/3, with Joe Root (37*) and Harry Brook (71*) at the crease. The pair picked up where they left off, extending their century partnership. Brook reached his century in the first session, off just 118 balls, hitting 13 fours in his innings.

Later on Brook was eventually out for 109 (132), with Jayden Seales breaking their substantial partnership. Brook and Root put together 189 runs for the fourth wicket off 248 balls, pushing England’s score past 300. After Brook’s dismissal, Joe Root continued to advance the innings, reaching his 32nd Test century. The 33-year-old achieved this milestone in the second session with a beautiful drive through the off side.

After that Root equaled the record of legendary Australia captain Steve Waugh and his contemporaries Steve Smith and Kane Williamson, who also have 32 Test centuries each. He was eventually dismissed for 122 (178), having hit ten fours during his innings.

Gus Atkinson also made a crucial contribution at the end, scoring an unbeaten 21 (26) as England concluded their innings at 425, setting a formidable target of 385 for the West Indies in the fourth innings.

At the time of writing this article, West Indies were struggling at 89/5 with Kevin Sinclair and Jason Holder at the crease.
