Comedian Lee Jin Ho, known for his appearances on Knowing Bros, has admitted to scamming several celebrities, including BTS’ Jimin. Lee, who recently confessed to his gambling addiction, borrowed a substantial sum from Jimin, leaving the K-pop star financially impacted.

BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed the unfortunate news, revealing, “Jimin indeed suffered financial damage. All he did was write a promissory note and lend it to Lee Jin Ho.” Reports from Korean media state that Jimin lent around 100 million KRW to Lee Jin Ho in 2022, but the money was never returned.

Lee Jin Ho’s confession

Lee Jin Ho took to social media to confess his illegal gambling addiction and the toll it has taken on his life. He shared, “I started playing games on illegal gambling sites on the Internet by chance in 2020, and I got a debt that I couldn’t afford.”

Admitting to his struggles, he explained how advice from close friends made him realise the gravity of his situation. He acknowledged that he received financial help from many, including celebrities, and is now trying to pay back his debts. “I will continue to repay all of this debt on my own until I die,” Lee wrote.

Lee also opened up about the fear he has lived with due to his gambling addiction, sharing how unknown phone calls would send him into panic. “I felt like I was being beaten every day by the fear of when this would be known to the world.”

Further, Lee expressed remorse for failing to repay those who helped him. His agency, SM C&C, has not yet issued a statement, while Knowing Bros is reportedly looking into the situation to determine his future with the show.
