‘Decimate & Dominate’: Former Indian Cricketer Pokes Fun At Bangladesh After Capitulation In 1st T20I

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has said that Bangladesh didn’t even come close to India’s performance in the first T20I in Gwalior and rather than a match, it seemed like a mismatch between the two teams. He added that Bangladesh played sub-standard and very mediocre cricket, something that doesn’t augur well for the team.
India, oozing with fresh talent, bundled out Bangladesh for a below-par 127 before the Indian batters played an array of audacious strokes to gun down the target within the 12th over.
The stars with the ball were rookie pacer Mayank Yadav and spinner Varun Chakravarthy while brilliant cameos from Sanju Samson (29 off 19), captain Suryakumar Yadav (29 off 14) and Hardik Pandya (39 not out off 16 ) ensured an easy chase for India.
“Decimate, dominate, they were disposed of. Bangladesh guys – what are you doing, what sort of cricket do you play? You didn’t even come close. This wasn’t a match but a mismatch. India have gone 1-0 ahead. Whoever bowled picked up wickets, and whoever had a bat in his hands hit,” Chopra said while speaking on his YouTube channel.
Towards the later half of the game, with just a few runs left, Pandya played a brilliant no-look shot and social media burst with awe. Chopra compared his swagger with that of the Turkish shooter who went viral on social media during the Paris Olympics.
“Do you remember the Turkish shooter, who had a hand in his pocket in the Olympics? Hardik Pandya was also similar. What swag and attitude. That just defined everything for me. The way he played that (no-look) shot and stood there and looked (at the bowler), there was West Indian swag in that and the team’s swagger,” Chopra said.
India play Bangladesh in the second T20I on October 9 in New Delhi.
