New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena launched the ‘Public Amusement Portal’ at an event held at NDMC Convention Centre on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, Vinai Kumar Saxena said that the launch of the ‘Public Amusement Portal’ signifies a significant advancement towards enhancing “Ease-of-Doing-Business”, a vision championed by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

He highlighted the strides made in simplifying and rationalising regulatory and licensing procedures over the past two years, including initiatives such as the Unified Portal for Eating and Lodging Establishments, extended operational hours for bars and restaurants, open-air dining permissions, and the authorization for establishments to operate round-the-clock.

The newly launched Unified Portal for Amusement Activities leverages technology to unify and simplify the licensing processes for venues like amusement parks, auditoriums, and video game parlours across the capital. Developed by the Licensing Unit of Delhi Police in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the National Informatics Centre (NIC), this platform aims to enhance the efficiency of licensing procedures in Delhi.

Building upon the success of the unified portal for eating and lodging establishments launched in 2023, it now encompasses licensing for performances at licensed and unlicensed premises, along with amusement activities.

Key features of the Unified Portal include simplified application procedures accessible online, simultaneous submissions to all relevant agencies for efficient processing, automated updates on application status, real-time correction of deficiencies within the portal, and a transparent approval process ensuring timely statutory clearances.
