New Delhi: Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory in connection with the Navratri celebrations, which will be observed across the city from October 3 to October 13, 2024. Major temples that attract large crowds during this period include Jhandewalan Mandir, Shri Adhya Katyayani Shaktipith Mandir in Chattarpur, and Kalkaji Mandir.
Roads Affected During Navratras
Several roads and stretches are expected to experience heavy traffic due to the increased footfall near these temples. Key roads that will be affected include:
- Jhandewalan Mandir: Rani Jhansi Road, Faiz Road, New Rohtak Road, and DBG Road.
- Chattarpur Mandir: Chattarpur Mandir Road, MG Road (CDR Chowk, Mandi Village Cut, and Andheriya Mor), Anuvart Marg, 100 Foota Road, and 60 Foota Road.
- Kalkaji Mandir: Outer Ring Road from Nehru Place to Modi Mill.
Commuter Instructions
Delhi Traffic Police advises commuters to plan their journeys on the affected routes well in advance. Those travelling to important destinations such as IGI Airport, New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Nizamuddin Railway Station, and ISBT should leave early to accommodate potential delays.
Public transport use is encouraged to ease congestion, and parking is permitted only in designated areas. Roadside parking should be avoided as it can hinder the smooth flow of traffic.
In case of any suspicious activity or objects, the public is urged to report it immediately to the nearest police personnel or PCR van.
