New Delhi: With the festive spirit of Diwali just around the corner, Delhi is buzzing with excitement as shoppers hunt for the perfect jewellery, suits, and sarees. From shimmering bangles to elegant lehengas, the markets are alive with vibrant colours and intricate designs. Like every year, this time also, the All India Women Conference (AIWC) has added to the festive spirit by hosting its annual fair in the Mandi House area. If in Delhi, you just can’t miss this fair.

The AIWC is an internationally recognized organization, dedicated to uplifting underprivileged women since 1927. The organisation focuses on the key areas such as education, health, environment, climate change, women’s safety, and communal harmony.

The Shilp Kala Utsav is a treasure trove of exquisite designs, showcasing local artisans and their stunning creations. Visitors can enjoy a joyful atmosphere filled with laughter, music, and the aroma of delicious food. With each stall brimming with unique finds, the AIWC fair promises to be a delightful destination for all festival-goers this season.

The organisation has organised 14th Edition of Shilpkala Utsav from October 17-19, at Aga Khan Hall, 6 Bhagwan Das Road, New Delhi.

“We hold the Shilp Kala Utsav every year between Dussehra and Diwali. It’s a three-day festival where we invite many women artisans to sell their products directly. The AIWC has been working for women’s empowerment for 97 years, and this is one way to empower women artisans,” President Kalyani Raj of AIWC told Times Now Digital.

“Our aim is to generate income for the artisans present at the event. The stalls feature products from all over India,” she added.

To achieve the organisational goal of socio-economic empowerment for marginalized women, AIWC organizes the Shilpkala Utsav annually. This event provides women artisans with free space to sell their products directly to consumers, eliminating the exploitation by middlemen.

Additionally, AIWC plays a significant role in reviving traditional crafts, and contributing to the preservation of our national heritage.
