Hyderabad: A massive fire broke out in a container transporting cars from Hyderabad to Mumbai on the highway near the Zaheerabad bypass road in Sangareddy district. Reportedly, traffic was halted, and almost all the brand-new cars were reduced to ashes. Fire tenders reached the spot and extinguished the fire.
Reportedly, the fire completely destroyed the vehicles, reducing them to ashes. Nearly all the cars in the container were lost, and traffic on the highway was halted.
Earlier, a fire broke in Lord Venkateshwara temple in Hyderabad’s old city, Santosh Nagar. Fire tenders on the spot trying to douse the fire. A police team, has also reached the spot. The reason of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
In a separate incident, a massive fire erupted at a restaurant in Hyderabad’s Sultan Bazar area, spreading to a nearby illegal cracker shop and causing significant damage to multiple vehicles and property. The blaze completely destroyed the restaurant and resulted in damage to several parked two-wheelers, while one woman sustained minor injuries. Fire officials received a call at 9:18 PM and promptly arrived to tackle the flames, managing to extinguish the fire by around 10:30 PM to 10:45 PM.
According to Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) K. Shankar, the fire originated in the restaurant and quickly spread to the nearby Paras Fireworks shop, which operated without a licence. “The blaze that erupted in a restaurant spread to a nearby cracker shop, called the Paras Fireworks. The shop has no certificate. It was an illegal shop. We will take action against them,” he added.
District Fire Officer A. Venkanna noted that the initial response involved multiple fire tenders due to the intensity of the blaze. Visuals from the scene depict the restaurant reduced to ashes, while ACP Shankar reported that seven to eight cars were also destroyed.
