Hyderabad: Police arrested a 35-year-old man on Wednesday who allegedly tried to force himself upon his 13-year-old daughter and then later murdered her. Miyapur police said that the accused was addicted to porn and committed the crime under its influence.
Owing to camera footage, police were able to find a breakthrough in the case. In the video footage, the girl and the accused can be seen walking together into the forest area in Miyapur and later only the accused was seen coming out, said a Times of India report.
At around 9 am in the morning on June 7, the girl left the house saying that she does not want to live with her parents. As she left the house, one of the relatives saw her and informed the father who was at home. He immediately rushed to his daughter on his bike and told her that they will go to the forest and get some firewood.
Upon reaching the forest, the accused allegedly tried to rape his daughter. When she warned him that she would tell her mother, he got furious and killed her. He then fled the place and went back home. After that, he filed a missing complaint for his daughter.
Later, the girl’s decomposed body was found in a forest area at Miyapur on June 14. Based on CCTV footage, cops arrested the accused. During interrogation he admitted to the crime. After the girl’s body was found, he was the first one to identify the body. The footage also showed that the police identified the accused and the girl on a bike together.
The police said that whenever he visited the police station trying to get his daughter, he would be in tears. Later, he was remanded in judicial custody.
P Narsimha Rao, ACP, Miyapur said that the family hailing from Mahabubnagar district migrated to the city on June 1 for livelihood and started living in Miyapur. The accused is a delivery agent, and the girl’s mother is a daily wage worker.
