Delhi Grap Restriction: DMRC To Run Extra 20 Trips Amid GRAP Stage-3 Restrictions From Tomorrow

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation tweets, “In view of the implementation of GRAP-III from 8:00 AM tomorrow, 20 extra trips (in addition to 40 already in place since GRAP-II was implemented) will be inducted into services on weekdays starting tomorrow. Thus, 60 extra trips will be preformed by Delhi Metro on weekdays till GRAP-III remains in place.”

Delhi News Live: City Police Detain Over 1,200 People in 24-Hour ‘Operation Kawach’

In a major crackdown across the city, the Delhi Police detained 1,224 individuals during a 24-hour operation named ‘Operation Kawach.’ The detainees were allegedly involved in crimes like illegal possession of firearms, theft, banned drugs, and illegal liquor, an official said on Thursday.

The operation, which ran from November 12 to 13, involved all units of the Delhi Police, including the Crime Branch, Special Cell, and police forces from 15 districts. Police teams conducted raids at 874 locations across the city.

“During the operation, we detained 1,224 individuals and arrested over 700 of them,” the official stated.

‘Operation Kawach’ is a regular initiative by the Delhi Police aimed at cracking down on criminals and drug traffickers in various areas. The operation is carried out by the local police in coordination with the Special Cell and Crime Branch to ensure city-wide safety.

Delhi News LIVE: Will Capital See GRAP-3 Restrictions Soon? Capital’s ‘Severe’ Air Quality Raises Concerns

The capital is grappling with severe air quality as the city battles through dense smog and poor visibility, triggering significant health concerns. The national capital’s AQI stood in ‘severe’ category on Thursday. The Air Quality Index (AQI) reached a record high of 418, marking the worst air quality in the country and the first time this season that the AQI fell into the “severe” category on Wednesday. The AQI surged from 334 the previous day, placing Delhi under a hazardous pollution level that could trigger stringent measures under the third stage of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

Chief Minister Atishi and senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia visited Delhi Sports School on Wednesday, engaging with students and assessing the available facilities. The leaders joined the students for breakfast, discussing their training routines, nutrition, and competition preparation, as per an official AAP statement.

During their visit, Atishi and Sisodia observed training sessions in sports like table tennis, archery, weightlifting, wrestling, boxing, and swimming. Reflecting on the school’s journey since its conceptualisation in 2015, Sisodia remarked, “Seeing this dream turn into reality is emotional.” He added that initiatives like Delhi Sports School could significantly boost India’s Olympic medal tally by offering early and high-quality sports training. The institution currently trains students in 10 Olympic sports, equipped with top-tier amenities to nurture young athletes.
