Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Karnan To Star Suriya
Kanguva star Suriya is all set to play the lead in Rang De Basanti director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s upcoming magnum opus Karnan. This news has dispelled rumours of the film being shelved.
The news was confirmed by the director of the film at a recent awards show.
Suriya confirmed to play the lead in Karnan
During his brief interaction with the press, Rakeysh confirmed that he is working on Karnan and that Suriya would be playing the lead in the movie.
Rakeysh went on to say that he is currently busy with the pre-production work for Karnan and refused to divulge further details.
A few months ago, author and screenwriter Anand Neelakandan revealed that Karnan will be a two-part film and the first part is in the pre-production stage. The writer also stated that he has written the script and screenplay for the film.
As per reports Vijay Varma will also be seen in a crucial role in the film.
Which Actress To Star In Suriya’s Karnan?
It is rumored that Jahnvi Kapoor will play the female lead in Karnan.
It was also stated that the makers have approached Nayanthara to star in the film. It is said that discussions were on regarding a female star in Karna, and Nayanthara has been approached for the project with Suriya.
Karnan will be based on Mahabharata’s Karna, the son of the sun god Surya and princess Kunti.
The mythological period drama will be produced by Excel Entertainment.
