LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B was evacuated and temporarily closed on Saturday following a security threat. According to local media reports, a suspicious package was found. Several flights were delayed. Airport authorities are yet to confirm the nature of the threat or the content/s of the said package.
In a statement, a TSA spokesperson reportedly said, “Travellers scheduled to fly from LaGuardia should check with their airlines for updates, and passengers currently at the airport should remain in contact with airport personnel for guidance.”
NewsNation cited Port Authority to add that the bomb squad responded to the scene, but just before 8 AM ET the issue was resolved. Passengers were let back into the airport.
