Child preacher Abhinav Arora has received what his family claims was a death threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Jyoti Arora, the mother of the 10-year-old spiritual orator known as Bal Sant Baba, spoke to ANI on Monday, alleging that the 700-member Bishnoi gang has made repeated attempts to threaten the Aroras with Abhinav’s impending killing.
“We received a call message from Lawrence Bishnoi group today where we were being threatened that Abhinav would be killed. Last night, we got a call that I missed. We received a message from the same number today that they would kill Abhinav,” Jyoti said.
Bishnoi’s shooters, who were most recently involved in the assassination of former Maharashtra minister, three-time MLA and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) figurehead Baba Siddique, and in the shooting of singer Sidhu Moose Wala in 2022, have warned of similar consequences for allyship to actor Salman Khan.
Arora’s family’s claims that he is a potential target on the gang’s hit list have been met with scepticism online.
“Now Abhinav Arora’s mother claims that she has allegedly received a threatening message from Lawrence Bishnoi group. Looking at the situation in the country, it seems that even if Kurkure is stolen from a shop, there will be a Lawrence Bishnoi angle,” Abhishek, a social media user, joked on Twitter, now X.
“She is Abhinav Arora’s mother. How low can these people stoop? When they came to know that their secret is out, they took Lawrence Bishnoi’s name for more publicity. Why would Lawrence Bishnoi threaten them?,” asked another.
Recent exposes and news reports pointing to the involvement of Tarun Raj Arora, Abhinav’s father and TedX speaker, in the making of his spiritual content, have added to the cynicism with which the family has come to be viewed.
