Ahmedabad Man Left with Fractures After Girlfriend’s Father Rams Car Into Him

Ahmedabad: A 25-year-old man alleged that his girlfriend’s father ran a car over him, leaving him injured. The accused also allegedly beat him up due to his opposition to the relationship between his daughter and the young man. The injured stated that his girlfriend’s father was not satisfied with their relationship due to caste difference. Both he and the accused are neighbours in the Vastrapur area in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The injured victim filed a complaint with the Vastrapur Police Station, accusing the father of his girlfriend of attacking him with a rod, reported by Times of India.
He stated that on Thursday evening, the young man went to visit his two friends who live nearby. It is when he saw his girlfriend’s father approaching him in a car. The vehicle was moving at a high speed that hit him. The young man received injuries to his right ankle. Then, the accused ran over the car on foot.
After which, he came out of the car, and assaulted the man with a metal road, leaving him injured. He suffered several fractures in the right leg and received eight stitches for a forehead wound.
In a similar incident from Ahmedabad, a man was found dead underneath a platform set for ironing clothes hidden by a “wall of brick”. He was allegedly killed by a friend of his over loan. The incident came into light when the locals started to get a strong pungent smell from a closed shop. Upon opening the shutters, they found a dead body.
During investigation, the police found out that the friend of the deceased, Dinesh Kanojiya, executed the crime for a Rs 40,000 loan given to the deceased, Ravi Vaghera. The police suspected that the accused was not mentally stable.
