Flying business class is typically synonymous with comfort and luxury, but for Vineeth K, his recent trip with Air India to Newark in New Jersey, USA, for an office trip was far from ideal. Sharing his ordeal on social media, Vineeth recounted a series of issues that transformed his journey into what he described as a ‘nightmare’ with Air India’s business class.

Taking to social media, Vineeth noted that upon boarding flight AI 105, he faced a cascade of issues. The flight, initially delayed by 25 minutes, greeted him with a business class seat that fell short of his expectations. He documented the experience with photos revealing worn-out seats covered in grime, exacerbated by several seats being non-functional.

“Yesterday’s flight was no less than a nightmare,” Vineeth wrote. “The seats were not clean, worn off & of the 35 at least 5 seats were not functional. 25 mins delayed take off. After settling for 30 mins post take off, I wanted to get to sleep (3.30 AM) and realized that my seat doesn’t go to a FLAT BED, reason it’s not working.”

The ordeal persisted with the food service for Vineeth. He recounted being served uncooked meals and stale fruits, an experience he claimed prompted many passengers to return their meals. Adding to his frustrations, the in-flight entertainment system failed to function, showing a ‘Not Found’ error whenever he tried to use it.

To top off his unpleasant journey, upon arrival, Vineeth discovered that his luggage had been damaged.

Air India issued a response to the post, stating, “Dear Sir, we understand your disappointment and regret the hassle you faced. Believe us, we never want our passengers to have this kind of experience. We are highlighting this internally for further review.”
