We had reported earlier that actor Raghava Lawrence would be starring in an action film titled Benz, which would be directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan and produced by director Lokesh Kanagaraj under his G Squad production banner.
A New Addition To The LCU
On Lawrence’s 48th birthday, the makers of Benz took to their social media to announce that the film would be a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), which already comprises the films Kaithi, Vikram and Leo. In a special glimpse announcing the film’s inclusion in the LCU, director Lokesh Kanagaraj makes an appearance as he describes Benz as “A warrior with a cause is the most dangerous soldier.” The portrayal of Benz suggests that he will be a ruthless villain like Rolex from the Lokesh directorial Vikram, played by Suriya. The high-energy glimpse shows Benz as a chef who has a nefarious side to him.
More About The Film
Director Bakkiyaraj Kannan has previously directed the films Remo and Sulthan. The film’s story also comes from Lokesh Kanagaraj. Along with Lokesh, Jagadish Palanisamy and Sudhan Sundaram will back Benz under The Route and Passion Studios banners, respectively. The makers are yet to announce the technical crew of Benz. According to reports, the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film have already been bagged by Netflix.
Meanwhile, Raghava Lawrence also has Bullet, Adhigaram, Durga and Kaala Bhairava in the pipeline.
