Indian captain Rohit Sharma created history as he became the first player in the world to hit 200 sixes in T20Is. Rohit Sharma came out with a positive intent against Australia and blasted the Aussie bowlers to all corners of the park. Rohit needed five sixes to reach the milestone and it only took him 14 deliveries to hit those five sixes against Australia. Rohit started the T20 World Cup with a brisk fifty against Ireland, however, he ran out of gas in the following games. Rohit Sharma also went past Babar Azam to became the highest run-scorer in T20Is. Rohit also reached his fifty in just 19 balls to give India a flying start.

Rohit did not stop after reaching the milestone and continued assaulting the Aussie bowlers. The Indian captain hit three more sixes and broke Yuvraj Singh’s record for most sixes in a T20 World Cup innings by an Indian. Yuvraj had scored seven sixes in the T20 World Cup match against England and Rohit went past him with record eight sixes.
Meanwhile, India will be looking to seek revenge for the ODI World Cup 2023 defeat against Australia. A loss for Australia against India will put them on the verge of a group stage exit from the T20 World Cup. If Australia lose to India and Afghanistan beat Bangladesh, Australia will be knocked out of the tournament and India and Afghanistan will qualify for the semifinals. India are likely to face England in the T20 World Cup semifinal at Providence Stadium In Guyana.
