“Now, if you open social media, it’s all Arjun,” said filmmaker Rohit Shetty in an exclusive interview with Zoom as he discussed the audience’s response to the Singham Again trailer. He also addressed the negative perception surrounding Kapoor, who had been facing a series of box-office flops before this cop drama.

“I’m happy. Those who had doubts earlier, they’re also right, and after seeing it, we’ve lived up to their expectations, so that’s right too,” he said and added, “Today they like the character, and the way we presented it, the way we presented Arjun, and that’s why they’re praising Arjun now. So, I feel after a point in life, it’s not like the audience is wrong. And I’m talking about the audience on social media, not others. They are never wrong. They would have had a certain perspective about Arjun before the release, and they might have had doubts. But now, I’m happy that they’re happy for him.”

Reacting to the social media comments on Arjun after the promo, he said, “So, if there was some doubt or memes were being made, or jokes were being cracked or statements were being given, now it’s getting just as much praise.”

Rohit Shetty expressed that he was happy to see even the critics praising Arjun, as it greatly benefited the film. He mentioned that Prakash Raj is still associated with his iconic character Jaykant Shikre. “And after that, if they remember Arjun, it’s a huge success for us,” he said.

Talking about the casting decision, he said, “There will always be a risk. We always want the film to be good. We write characters in such a way that people will like it, they’ll whistle and clap, because we make commercial mass films Sometimes we go right, sometimes we go wrong, but that risk factor is always there. But sometimes, or most of the time, I go with my conviction.”
