We had earlier reported that Malayalam actor Saiju Kurup was venturing into production with a new film titled Bharathanatyam, which he was also starring in, and reported when the film’s team released the first look, trailer, and first single from the film just a few days ago. The makers of the upcoming film took to their social media on August 25, Sunday, to release a new single from the film titled Tharavadi Atrocity.
The fun, and quirky song was released online by the film’s team with the caption. “Get ready to vibe with “Tharavadi Atrocity,” the pulse-pounding promo song from the Malayalam movie Bharatanatyam, performed by the dynamic duo Shabareesh Varma and Aju Varghese. Mark your calendars – the film hits theaters on August 30.”
The accompanying music video for the song shows BTS moments of the recording of the song, featuring actors Aju Varghese and Shabareesh Varma engaged in a fun lyrical battle against each other.
A Widely-Shared First Look
A few days ago, while sharing the first look poster and title announcement on his official social media handles, Saiju wrote, “Dear Friends and Family, it’s with immense joy that I share the First Look Poster of my maiden production venture Bharathanatyam in collaboration with Thomas Thiruvalla Films. This long standing desire has come to fruition due to the incredible amount of love and encouragement I’ve received from all of you over the past 19 years in my journey in the film industry.”
Actor Dulquer Salmaan, a frequent collaborator of Saiju’s, too shared the poster on his social media with the endearing caption, “Here is the first look poster for Bharatanatyam, produced by Saiju Kurup for the first time! Saiju, your passion for cinema is something I know personally ! So im not surprised that you have turned producer. Wishing you and the entire team all the best! (sic)”
The first look poster featured its lead actors Saiju Kurup and Saikumar looking up while at the viewer while everyone around them are looking down and away. The trailer of the film was released a few days later, on August 9. From the trailer, the film looks to be a comedy story centered around a joint family. It focuses on the happenings within and around a Nair mansion and its family, who take great pride in their heritage and are excessively conscious of it.

The film also stars Kalaranjini, Sreeja Ravi, Thallumala-fame Swathi Das Prabhu and Nandu Poduval. The technical crew of Bharathanatyam includes cinematographer Bablu Aju, music director Samuel Aby and editor Shadeeque VB.
